Ha! I knoow... its waaaay to late to post this, better late than never..I think..;P. There you go, some snaps from Kopi Keliling Opening Art Market!

Blaah.. I don't really have much time to take shoots and paying attention on the result, so very sorry for the poor quality, just think it as a deliberately art form! (yah rite)

 - One of the display, I don't know, at the time I suddenly really get into feathers.. so I decorate my stand mostly with feathers

- My boho chic/feathery/hasteful stand.. On the end of the show, I get really frustrated with the hanger, its broken because of loosing some of its bolts (I forgot to bring it from the studio, stupid)

- The hanging decoration I made all night. Hhahahaa.. some of my friend says I suppose to sell this too

- Again, one of my display look, with feathers and coffee bean

- Some of other crafter display, there are still a lot of them actually, but I can't manage to shoot them all, simply because I have to stay in my stand for almost the whole show

- Again, some cool craft, I am sadly had not much time to take a look more

- Beside the art market, there are some music and art performance from many artists, and off course the climax are from everybody's favorite pupet theather; THE Papermoon Pupet Theater! :)

Some Draoupads Moments in 2012

Wheeeeee... can you believe its already 2013?.. What a journey.. many things happens to me in 2012, I can't say it's a very good year, nor a bad one. But I must say, its a pretty challenging year. I found myself in things that I never thought I could be able to do it, and also places I never thought I could be travel to. I reach some personal achievement that I must say it makes me quite proud of myself. In 2012, I;ve made some pretty big decisions, one of it is definitely; going back to Jogja, and finally be able to have my own studio. Also one of the big decision I have is to finally make draoupads as my main job for now. Its a rough patch indeed, but even until now, I'm quite sure I don't regret any of it, at all. (well, maybe a little, when the wallet get thiner.. damn, I should've take that big corporate job).. ;P

Well, talking about draoupads, here's some of my favorite draoupads's photo shoot all along 2012!

 

 

- Draoupads's first outerwear! The model is Okta, and I'm crazy with her tanned skin and the fact of how tall she is for such a young girl..

- The Cakra! Its actually a loop model for draoupads's scarves, that have a traditional twist on the material. And people, I might have mention her before, but never actually introduce her, this is my friend Rara.

- Draoupads's tops is back! Sokya and Vanya is back. I've already produce them in 2011, apparently the model have pretty much fans, so I decided to produce the agaim. And as the Model, is Kiki. Rrrite same name, trust me its always feels weird everytime I call her name..

-And yess, it's Cakra again, but this time one of my best friend Anggi is doing as a model. Always love her bubbly spirited attitude!

- Here is Hani, and believe it or not, she is Anggi's little sister. I've known her since she's in junior high, and then I photograph her and suddenly realize that she's growing into a woman, a one beautiful woman indeed.

Annnnnnd as I said before, the first Indun and Cakra photo shoot are definitely my most favorite photo shoot moment in 2012, and thanks to this little prince, that made all the time seems worth it only by seeing his beautiful smile :)

Some studio update

About a week ago, my room was finally finished it renovation, so I finally move all of my stuff and start to tidy up the place. But, thanks to my lazy butt, even after a week it seems like I could never get it together. The problem is certainly because there are things I still need to make it more neat, like I still need to buy some nice container for my fabric, also some shelf, jars for my sewing appliances, and off course a pinboard! Not to mention a desk lamp...
Nope, I'm just lazy, that's the problem. 

Oh, by the way, the cat sketches and the wood painting were from my dear friend Atit. Amazing talent. If you wanna see more of her work, go see her shop.

Scenes from behind the scene

So, the first idea was to have Lila as the only model for the collection, we thought 'no problem', off course she have to bring Aksan along, I thought 'okay', while Lila was being photographed by Udin, our most talented photographer/director (despite of his cranky-ness ;p), I can take Aksan to play. 

Everything is well setted, we only forgot one thing; Aksan is nooo ordinary baby to handle with.

My.. he kept insisted to be close with his mommy, and won't take 'no' for an answer. As you can see.. At one point, he didn't even let Lila to wear the shawls... Oh dear..

It's been pretty stressful at first, but Udin took some first shoots of Lila with Aksan, and surprisingly it went reeeeeely great! So I've decided to include Aksan in the frame (sure, what choice do I have, right?) What an expensive property.. Heee..

And the battle continuous, after Lila finished with the first shawl model (I've published two kind of shawls for the collection), Aksan is craving for milk, and that's it, we're doomed.. Thank God, Rara was came by, so I instantly asked her to model for the second shawl. And the 'Little King' was again in his best mood and gave us his best love :)

The photo session was took place at Vredeburg Castle in Malioboro street at noon. Overall I must say, this has became one of the most hectic and also FUN Draoupads's photo session, evvverr..! :)

"Home is where the heart is"... Yikes.. It does sounds cheesy isn't it?.. Sorry, that's the only phrase that comes in my head right now, in this one crazy hot mid day in Jogja, phew..

Anyway, this is the post I've been talking about lately, regarding to the reason of why I put draoupads in a hiatus moment for some time, and recently some of you might confuse why I start to sent Draoupads product from Jogja (again). Well, this.. is people, I must say 'a confession post'. And yess, if you're guessing that I have came back to Jogja.. then you, my dear, are just.... definitely, correct. :)

About a year earlier, I've decided to go move to Bogor along with Draoupads. Well, I must say, I don't have enough option to stay in Jogja, despite how much I love the city. My impulsive decision to quit my day job and start my own label without having enough consideration, in terms of financially and strategically, made me have to accept the fact that I don't have enough fund, even just to support my life. So there it goes.. I packed my bags, my clothes, all of draoupads production items, I even sent some of my furniture to Bogor. But one thing for sure, I still left a big piece of my heart in the city. 

And then I start to live my life, in Bogor (and Jakarta). I though it won't be that hard to, again,  adapt my life in that two cities, since I was born and raised in Jakarta, and Bogor is not far from Jakarta and Depok (the place where I use to live for my 6 years of college. Oh yess, you read it right, six years.. What can I say..I love being in college! Hahahaaa..). So I start to sew again, and dye-ing, designing more draoupads product, I even start my new job as a researcher, while still doing some translating job. And things are going pretty smoothly, I found myself captivated in the researching field, and  finally able to gain my financial freedom back. But then.. something is still missing.. I can't seem to enjoy my existence in Jakarta nor Bogor. I can't figure out why, most of my friends are in Jakarta, and I can meet them anytime, so does my family, especially my nephews and nieces. Call me dramatic or melancholic but I can't lie,  I still feel this hollow feeling inside. And yess I know its weird, since it had nothing to do with any real romantic feeling in terms of real thing, such as...people.

And then, there comes the decision, it starts with my consciousness that, anytime, whenever I was out of town, especially when I go to some place where I'm doing my research, one place I always thinking about going home is Jogja, not Jakarta, nor Bogor. Until finally I decided that I will going back to Jogja. I kept this  to myself, while I'm saving some money for my moving and start again draoupads in a more sustainable spirit. Off course many people were pretty shocked, but those who know me well, such as my mother and some of my best friends just instantly understand. Oh, one more thing! You won't believe this.. but Dinda is happen to be just accepted in UGM (Universitas Gajah Mada)!! It's official then. 

So here I am, safe and sound, back in Jogja, in a place I can happily say as my 'home'. :)

Oh shooh.. I almost forgot!  this is some peek of the new draoupads studio. I can't gave you more, since there are still a lot things to be done. Most of draoupads fabric and production items are also still in Bogor. I share the place with my friends. Its a big and nice place, good lighting, and it have this rustic and historic feelings in it. Its a love at first sight indeed: 

- This is the room that I'm going to use, this is one of the four rooms they got, and for me, this is the best one

- And this will be some of my 'spot', can't wait to fill it!

- Some of my friends stuff, he's a photographer and this is some of his brilliant work

- Mr. Piggy! (Or Miss..I'm not sure) along with Avo (my bike) and a shelf I bought in an extremely reasonable price at Ace Hardware. We plan to use the spot as our showcase spot for some of our products and works.

Baby, Vacation and Being Twenty Seven

Yess, I've become such a bad blogger lately.. I've got all pretty excited with the vacation and the baby thing, and off to Jakarta, being wellcome with such deadline, and continuing to postpone in updating my blog. Well, first of all here's some summary about my latest vacation to Jogja ;)

Wellcoming the world!! Its baby Aksan everyone, isn't he beautifull... He 'poped out', not long after I arrived in Jogja. And waiting his birth in the hospital alley.. maan, definitely one of a kind experience..

And the proud mother, my very best friend; Lila Imelda Sari, congrats dear!!  :)

A view from the hospital room balcony, I've been acompanying Lila, at the time she's in the hospital, and watching her pain after giving birth... My..I can't stop thinking how my mother can through all of that for SIX times!

I'm turning twenty seven!! For some unexplainable reason, I've been waiting for quite some times for me to come to this age..and this is it. And as a birthday gift, my friend, gave me a special show, he sang some of my all time favourite song!! And here goes the list:

A nice pause after a long day shopping supplies for draoupads; one cup of GREAT coffee in one of a local famous coffee shop, 'Semesta'. It's always been a 'pause moment' that I've missing a lot from Jogja.

Some bites over the week

Have you ever wonder if one day you were born as a singer, whom you might want to be? Well my answer is definitely Feist! Aaaaarrrggh..... Love her badly! her voice, her music, her face, her style, her taste on art, simply evvverything! And over the week I was invited with my friend Udin, (whom also crazy about her) to watch her latest documentary movie, and guess what.. we're crazy even more about her! hahahhaaa...

This pictures actually been taken for about a week ago, its funny yet ironic in the same time, eventhough I have no idea where they'll be taken or what will the man do with them.. But I sure hope its a good thing..:(

Yup.. Its the moment of truth. One step ahead to Bogor!

Hhiahahaaa... This is one of the fun moment I have over the week! Ria (an incredible artist behind Papermoon) is came by to get her kebaya from lila, and wee have such hilarious photo shoot moment. You can read the whole story here

Cut the sobbing part! I'm off to Bogor and can't be more ready to start a new draoupads collection!

Feeling 'Tourist' Pt 2

Its Saturday, and we decided to go to Gembiraloka Zoo! Yiay...:)

At first, I got sooooo excited about this going to the Zoo thing, until I forgot how I never really into Zoo.

I don't know.. this concept about make something alive being watched without their own will, and making them as tourist attraction (which ironicly I am one of them).. that's somehow alway disturb me. As same as the concept of 'pet. I looooove animal badly, but having them only as an object of affection or simply pride, without really taking care of them and treat them well.. I'm sorry, but for me, that's a stupid reason to have a pet.

Well, but frankly I manage to get some inspirations here. We went to the reptile section (off course with a deep concern about the poor condition of their nest). Well, I must say, reptiles are not my favorite thing, but I never thought how amazing their colors are.. My brains are exploded with sooo many beautiful colors they have, and imagine how I can translate them in draoupads piece!

And I just want to scream (in a good way off course) with this!

And in the end, we were taking a nice ride with this swan. Actually at first, I want to have an elephant ride, but my travel partner think its too stoooopid, doh.... :|

 But its a fun ride afterall..:)

And..... at Sunday night we went to Alkid, and have another ride! 

Yess.. I know it does look stupid.. What the heck! ;P

Sorry for the poor resolution, I use camera from my cell. But overall, Its a pretty interesting weekend for me, and it makes me sob even more for leaving the town! :(
